We are slowly adding some journey maps

January 2020 - Part 2

Mid-January Zsuzsi went back to Hungary for a long week for a surprise visit to see her Mum, family and friends. While she was having a lovely time in Hungary, I have been left to arrange various works done on the van. Fridge and oven now work, fan belt and clutch replaced.

Back from Hungary, I picked Zsuzsi up on a Wednesday night, having circled around Gatwick a few times cos no convenient parking for a motorhome and headed off to Emily’s for a spot of family time.

Then we took a deep breath and with credit card in hand, went to have the solar sorted. The work was planned for 3 days. It took 5. Still, we now have electricity, so can charge the phones, kindle, tablet, PC, etc.…. a new level of comfort!

We wished Bobby a Happy birthday on the 26th of January and then headed down to Portsmouth to finalize the arrangements for our new house.

Back to the van and having changed a leaking tap, we now have hot water 😀

On the 28th January 2020 on choppy waters, we left England and early on 29th January entered France at Dieppe. Finally we are on our travels!

Rushing south for the sun we made it to our first stop at Villveque, very tired. Already it is 12℃  and sunny. Such a nice change. Next day we had another long drive to Brantome, the town where we almost bought a house last year. We were still very tired, but went to town anyway. Even in winter Brantome is a lovely place. We did think to spend a second night there but it had turned a little wet so decided to travel 100km further south to Saint Foy le Grande. It’s still a little drizzly here, but a balmy 15℃.

Tomorrow we are heading onwards south to warmth.
